Make It Monday: Sugar Lip Scrub

Dry Lips; are simply a girls worst enemy. Why? Because it makes kisses much more of a dread, knowing how dry and rough your lips feel. What makes it even worsts is chapped lips can actually trap in food that you have been eating. So imagine kissing someone with dry, rough, chapped lips and they have tiny food particles stuck between the dead skin! Gross right?

Following up to my recent post on beauty tips and tricks, I have received my first request by Christine, who wants me to explain more about how to make the lip scrub and honestly its very easy and the steps are as Easy As 1, 2, 3!

Ingredients
  • Granulated Sugar (Organic will be best, but normal sugar is fine)
Sugar is used as our exfoliant, you can use fine sugar or granulated sugar. Fine sugar creates a more smoother paste while granulated sugar makes the paste more thick and chunky. Both will exfoliate the lips but I prefer Granulated Sugar.
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Extra Virgin Olive Oil will help rehydrate and moisturize the lips because exfoliating the lips may get rid of all the icky yucky flaky stuff on our lips but it will not get any softer without help of some good old fashion Olive Oil.
  • Honey
Honey itself is an exfoliate and it also contains anti bacterial properties and will help the lips renew its cells faster.
  • Dash of Lemon Juice (Optional)
Not only does it have clarifying and cleansing properties but it also is removes dead cells!

Steps
  1. Mix 2 table spoons of sugar into a bowl and gradually add Honey tablespoon at a time until it reaches a pasty consistency, add 2 teaspoon of extra Virgin Olive Oil and Mixxxx. (Add in a dash of Lemon Juice for an Extra kick!)
  2. Apply this in circular motions on your lips and leave for a minute or 2 and wash it off
  3. Finish off with your favorite Lip Balm!
After using this scrub your lips should feel softer and more hydrated!
